Judging by the Versace pre-fall 2017 collection, Donatella Versace continues the reforms in his fashion house. Frank sexuality and chic are replaced by sports style and casual. But here, the designer is not looking for simple ways: innovative fabrics and original combinations of materials, intarsia and patchwork, fancy prints and a complicated cut are used. But this does not mean that the “old” Versace is no more. Military and sport in the new collection are not without a touch of glamor, traditional camouflage goes well with baroque motifs, and a sweatshirt is paired with a translucent skirt and heeled sandals. Well, femininity from Versace collections has not disappeared anywhere – it just became tougher and more restrained.
